No. 6 Building
No.6 Building is an IT-equipped building, compatible with a wide array of multimedia devices. The building houses large-scale classrooms and is capable of offering venues for a variety of events and academic conferences.
University Library
The University Library holds a collection of some 450,000 volumes. The library reading rooms are furnished with computers allowing users easy access to internet and audio visual equipment. The Teru Miyamoto Museum is housed annexed to the library to honor the award-winning novelist, Teru Miyamoto, who was among the first graduates of the university. In October 2007, the Australia Library was opened on the third floor, with a collection of 15,000 references donated by the Australia-Japan Foundation.
Shorai-an
The Japanese teahouse was first built in 1976 through monetary donations by the founder of the worl´ famous electric appliance manufacturer, Panasonic. Surrounded by the exquisite Japanese garden, the teahouse offers a place for both students and faculty members to study and practice Japanese traditional culture.
Comprehensive Center for Information and Language Education(CCILE)
CCILE provides assistance for management, operation and utilization of the information, audio-visual and language education facilities. The Center creates the latest IT-based environment for educational purposes.
Center for Australian Studies
The Center for Australian Studies serves as the only permanent institution in Japan solely dedicated to Australian studies. The purpose of the Center is to promote research on Australia and its neighboring countries and to contribute to cultural exchange and mutual understanding between Australia and Japan.
Psychological Research Center for Community Support
The Psychological Research Center for Community Support provides clinical counseling services to the community. The Center was appointed by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as one of the most innovative research facilities run by private universities in the country.
Cafeteria
The university takes great pride in its cafeteria. In a survey conducted by a prestigious newspaper publisher, it won the 2nd prize in the category of university refectories. The 4-story structure stands out on campus, exhibiting a touch of Southern Europe. The cafeteria offers a wide selection of dishes, presenting students a great place to chat over lunch.
Relaxation Spaces
Throughout the campus, you can easily find spaces where you can sit back and mingle with your friends and faculty members.
An 11-story building, completed in December 2006, offers "learning and communication" space where students can actively interact with faculty members. Faculty offices housed in the building have been doubled in size and provide enough space for faculty members to conduct seminars with students within their offices. With its symbolic appearance, the Central Building is one of the tallest buildings in the area and offers a bird´s view of Ibaraki City.
