Importance is also given to a research style that makes the most of experience and hands-on knowledge as the seeds of subjective ideas and innovative theories.
The Graduate Course of Chinese Culture aims to provide an integrated understanding of the thought, history and literature of China and Asia as a whole, instead of splitting the field up into separate majors. The program works to develop scholars with a broad perspective that goes beyond the boundaries of narrow specialties. The course offerings in each field include lectures and seminars on both the classic and contemporary periods.

In recent years, specialization and the use of information technology have advanced, creating a strong need for highly specialized research and instruction grounded in a broad cultural perspective and strong information processing capabilities.
